Illumination serves as a self-portrait reflecting my journey of discovering that I do not wish to be bound to any specific religion. I've always been in search of and questioning human spirituality, feeling as though I had to adhere to something. I explored various linear and circular beliefs but never felt able to fully commit to any of them. I’m not suggesting that any of these beliefs are wrong; rather, I’m expressing that they simply were not right for me.

I have come to believe that there is no single correct way to live or believe, and every individual must find what works best for them in a way that doesn’t cause harm. For me, the key to life lies in compassion, empathy, mindfulness, honesty, truth, wisdom, and courage. The seven birds in this piece symbolize these attributes.

Why the eye? Eyes express the innermost feelings and desires of the heart. Eye’s are symbolically associated with intelligence, light, vigilance, moral conscience and truth.
